First Rail Support (FRS) provides replacement bus services for train companies who require passengers to be moved by coach or bus whilst there are track outages.
The Challenge
The existing low-tech paper and fax based processes for running a train replacement business were not capable of delivering the volume, efficiency and quality of service that FRS required. A brand new software and technology solution capable of powering their entire train replacement operation was needed.

Starting from First Rail’s initial functional specification, Motive developed a robust application that simplified the tasks for all users and provided tools to monitor operations against SLAs.
The streamlined workflow allows train operating companies to request pricing proposals for emergency or scheduled track outages, make purchases and be guaranteed a high quality punctual service.
